You said that very well, got to you a hand. Here in Arizona it's a open carry state too.

The answer as to most of this kind of question:

"It depends." If the whole County, WalMart store, Gun-show is carrying open, I will too. I have an Uncle Mike's Skeleton for my DEagle .44 mag. 10-inch. (Also carry a Maxsell badge declaring "right to carry" in 14K gold right next to the holster. Yah, call me a ninja.) The .44mag. will stop any small-block Chevy and most diesels @ 50 yards. I have done so in the junk-yard. The rig turns heads at gun-shows, but that's the only place I've worn it OC. It advertises what I'm shopping for. I'd use my KelTec P11 for closer shots, tho'. My state is an "open" state. There is a gold, silver, platinum coin and medal, et al manufacturer in a city near here. All of the employees carry snubbies open. That's about 20 snubbies. What would be the point of concealed there?

Even if Open Carry is legal in all the CONUS, I would not open carry. Only Concealed carry for me...

Trouble
OC is legal where I live but I choose to CC. It's cool/cold most of the year so concealing is not too difficult.

Somedays it would be easier to holster my gun and not worry about printing or concealing...but just not ready to OC.

I would not open carry no matter what, I don't want anyone knowing that I carry period. It's that surprise factor should something go down. Open means to me, your the first target.

I used to now never OC...... but

Before I got my CCDW license I used to OC quite often 95% of the time it was at about 2-3 on my belt the way I still carry my revolvers even now just covered. I figure I have alot better chance to keep someone from grabbing it since they have to attack more from the front. When CCing my semi-auto's I wear them at 330ish on my belt the autos are more comfortable there for me at least. I posted when I first found the site a friend was attacked in a public bathroom and had his prized 1911 Colt that belonged to his late father stolen. It was 3-4 on his belt and was at a urinal had hiis head smashed into the wall and was ripped off, they never took his wallet just gun. They never found the guy to this day either.

There was a time not so long ago that it was thought that only a sneak and coward would carry concealed. It is why states have concealed weapons permits and do not require permits to carry open

i would carry mostly concealed in urban areas, maybe if in country ares woods etc. i would carry open.
i wish open carry was in every state.
it would only make our position stronger.

Right hip, high rise pancake. I never liked wearing a gun low.
