If peoples' phobia is so extreme that they can not distinguish between a law abiding citizen that may defend them and a thug who may victimize them they need to seek professional help. Really why should I care how someone that is willing to see my children butchered feels about my rational sane and legal effort to protect them?
I OC from time to time. Most time it's my Kimber in an HBE Shark covered OWB and sometimes it's the handle of my HK in a VM II .
No problems yet.. a few are you a cop questions... reply is always No just responsible.

If open carry was legal, how would you carry?

Concealed.

Unfortunately OK directly forbids it.

Otherwise I'd probably go Full-size Kimber in a Galco on my right hip.

NC's open carry laws used to have a reciprocating law stating that if anyone saw your open carry and became offended or frightened, s/he could call the police and you would be arrested. You could carry, but if someone didn't like it...you were goin' to jail. I dunno if KY has a similar law on the books or not, but irregardless...I wouldn't ever carry open. This is not the wild west. We live in a time where "bad guys" attack out of convenience (i.e. - back alleys in the middle of the night). If you're carrying a firearm on your person for the world to see, you will appear cowboy-ignorant. If your face looks stupid or if bystanders hear you use ignorant language then you are perpetuating an ever growing fear and resentment of people who carry firearms on their person.

Hahaha. I like how half the people skirt the issue at hand and how they don't even answer the question. Lighten up - the point has been made.

I'd carry something like Dirty Harry's Model 29 in a vertical shoulder holster. Something between 8 and 12 inches, depending within what limits I found I could effectively shoot.

Remember: this is to answer a "what if," and my answer is slightly joking. Any kidding aside, however, I'd "carry a big stick" if the primary purpose was to carry it in public view. Of course, there'd be a BUG somewhere (whether in-pocket, tucked IWB, or otherwise), assuming an ideal scenario.

In the interest of the common good and in light of the "what if" factor. My daily wear wouldn't change that much.

or
my Tucker Rig when it arrives

Note: I was talking to a friend who follows Texas Politics pretty closely and his view is that Open Carry may become a reality in Texas in the near future. It appears to be gaining support.

I would carry on strong side hip with a holster with a safety strap of some sort, or a SERPA holster.
I wouldn't mind trying open carry...it sure would be easier to dress around...and after carrying this long...I don't care who knows.

If this is not a complete fabrication / falsehood could you please post a link to the law that says that? So far each time a similar statement has been made it has been proven false I do not understand why people feel the need to fabricate laws that do not exist to support an irrational position.

Sounds exactly like a quote from the Brady Bunch's website in reference to anyone who carries a gun concealed or not

I dunno about WA, it's been a long time since I had a permit there (1981-84) but this is the rule in FL:

790.10 Improper exhibition of dangerous weapons or firearms.--If any person having or carrying any dirk, sword, sword cane, firearm, electric weapon or device, or other weapon shall, in the presence of one or more persons, exhibit the same in a rude, careless, angry, or threatening manner, not in necessary self-defense, the person so offending shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.

Of course the rub is who defines rude or careless? If I'm in ccw mode and a stiff breeze blows up my cover garment and some anti spots it, can she go over to a cop, point at me and exclaim: That guy is carrying a gun and I saw it and I'm scared! Guess what? Maybe I get busted. This is why I teach extraordinary measures to make sure the weapon stays concealed at all times, if possible. I make durn certain that my stuff stays concealed at all times.
