I can open carry but dont. Now BACK TO YOUR QUESTION.....
iF i open carried, I'd probably carry IWB. I find it more comfortable and it would be a little more difficult for someone to take my gun from me.....

By what can be understood as a technacality (sp?) , MI has an open carry law. Open carry is legal, but if LE wants, they just get you one of a number of possibilities (most common disturbing the peace).

I have opened carried (OWB) a few times using an on the hip Uncle Mike's sidekick holster when in the (mid) Northern (but not upper) part of MI. Normally I was out in the woods (I always carry out in woods) and went to lunch, maybe dinner, or filled up the truck / jeep with gas.

So maybe once or twice a year I open carry for in an extended period in a town. As a CCW holder you get into a possible bind of brandishing when you open carry. I have not confirmed this, but what a LE customer told me. However that LE is from SE MI, where open carry happens very very rarely.

OC is not legal in Oklahoma but even if it was I would carry concealed. I wouldn't want the attention OC might draw.

I'm currently underemployed. To make ends meet I work at a non-auto shop. Very public, close to a rough part of town, a lot of robberies to near by businesses (majority of crime after hours).

I carry the least expensive gun (Glock 31). There is a hidden (pump) shotgun (loaded) in the shop.

Two schools of thought at the shop. Those who CC and those who OC in shop. OC lets those doing recon know, possible reason we have never been hit. CC concern, when they do come, they will shoot first, and grab money, and take guns (you are advertising you have).

I'm in the middle of the two groups with no opinion I've stated. I CC in shop. Most customers think I am the only one unarmed. I don't know if that is good or bad. Might make me a target, as I am often the only one in the shop, per all the daytime posts. :P

I think this is a very interesting and clever tactic. I like it. It leaves the BG confused as who is the bigger threat if they wanted to rob the shop.

I would most likely continue to CC because I like to lay low. I don't want attention.

I carry concealed all the time, except when I go out to eat where alcohol is served, then I do the VA tuck and continue with business as usual.

IF OC were legal I would try to conceal carry with an OWB holster; but then have no worry if the gun showed.

OC is legal in my state, trouble is finding a LEO that knows its legal. Also the rumor is that in my parish(county) the sheriff has an unwritten policy that anyone that carries openly should be arrested, taken to jail, and then released with no charges filed. This is to scare them into not carrying openly. I don't feel like being the test case so I keep it concealed 99% of the time.
