Your source for open carry is certainly different from Texas and Oklahoma which are pro-gun states. Texas has has not allowed open carry for around a century or more. I have always been of the impression that non-open carry was the prevailing law, and that only a small minority of states allowed open carry. Please give the source for your statistics.

IMHO - concealed gives you the option of when and where to deploy your weapon.

I carry concealed always but dream of the day when everyone carried oc.

Imagine a bank robber walking into a bank and seeing every customer with a gun on their hip. A armed society is a polite society and the bgs would have serious second thoughts about being morons.

If only.......

Texas is one of six states that prohibit open carry. All the others allow it, though some have restrictions.

All the scoop here:

I would carry as my environment and weather would allow. Hot,humid Texas summer days would probably be OC days, evening out would likely be CC, and winter would most certainly be CC. The areas that I would be in would also dictate whether to OC or CC.

An armed society is a polite society.

I wonder if that was really true? Was it really true in the old West in Dodge City for instance, or is it just a saying that we like? If it was so polite then why did some find it necessary to have guns checked in a town?

Regards,
Jerry

An outlaw filled city that was being cleaned up due to non-law abiding folks is absolutely irrelevant to the discussion at hand.

Open carry is legal in AZ, I simply prefer to carry concealed. If I was to carry in the open (I do in Prescott on the 4th of July) its my peacemaker in a tied down rig, with a 3 1/2" birds head revolver on the crossdraw.
I go well heeled!!
