As to states with virtually unlimited open carry, they are in the minority. |

Whichever is most comfortable in what I am wearing at the time. I lean towards concealed most of the time, but then again here in Texas I don't have any choice. Then again, some of these hot and humid summer nights having the option would be nice. Besides, whats the point of having a BBQ gun and a fancy holster that matches your boots if you can't show them off?

I open carry from time to time in my Black Hawk Serpa. It really is not a huge deal here in GA. Some areas you get LEOs that do not know the law - or just desire to hassle - but most experiences are a non event. There will always be the one or two that everyone reads about.

Unless I misread the whole thread, no one from Tennessee has chimed in yet so I guess I will.
Open carry is 100% legal here in Tennessee. That is the reason out carry permits are Handgun Carry Permits and not Concealed Carry Permits as in some other states. Our law is written so it specifically makes open carry legal. And here in the West end of the state anyway, many of us do it. It is not at all uncommon to see several citizens open carrying around these parts. (Shelby County) I have stated several times on here that I open carry a majority of the time in the summer. I have never been targeted by bad guys. Never had a bad word spoken to me. Never had the police called by anyone. All for the same reason, it is common and the folks around here, and the police know open carry is legal and no one freaks out about it. As others have mentioned though, many people do not even notice I have it on. I carry a Glock 23 in a Blackhawk SERPA Level II security holster on my right hip at the 4 o'clock position. When I do conceal, this is exactly the same way I carry it as well. I do not try to "camouflage" the gun. What I mean by this is: open carry but wear black shirt and dark pants so it blends in. I have often OC'ed with Khaki pants and a white shirt. The black holster and gun stand out pretty well. No one has ever reacted in any way, except for the 2 or 3 comments I have gotten from people complimenting me on either the holster or the gun. One Sheriffs Deputy asked me if I was an off duty LEO and when I told him no he told me he likes to see civilians carrying. So, to answer your question, I do OC, and I do so in a Blackhawk SERPA Level II holster, OWB on the right hip at the 4 o'clock position.

I'm so used to CC/IWB...I like the 'unseen' advantage...I wouldn't want to OC...OMO
Stay armed...stay concealed...safe!

Where I use to live OC is Legal. The only time I OC was taking the dog out to do his business after dark because i was too lazy to put my cover shirt back on.
Being a Youth Pastor carrying a gun is something that would cause struggles with many in the church.
