Although the chart classifies New Mexico as open carry, that is a very limited version of open carry.

As to states with virtually unlimited open carry, they are in the minority.
I followed the link cited at opencarry.com for New Mexico Statutes and it goes to Conway Greene Co.. I find limitied information on NM OC at the cited link.

OTOH, New Mexico's Department of Public Safety website New Mexico DPS | Concealed & Carry Information lists open carry as legal (second to the last answer). I don't believe the info on the conwaygreene site is complete.

Last year, I could and did OC in NM while jogging through the downtown area of a small town because of some aggressive dogs and because at the time I hadn't figured out how to CC while jogging. I've since figured out how to CC while jogging.

If I ever chose to OC around St. Louis, assuming it was in a township where legal, I'd carry in an appendix-area IWB or OWB holster. OC in Missouri is tricky because each township can make their own laws on OC. It is difficult to research OC laws on all the townships I cross daily, and I'm not ready to be a test case in an area that I'm not sure about. At least until the laws become clearer in Missouri, I'll probably avoid OC in town. Not sure if I'll OC anyway here in town even if I find out it's legal.

Just a little addition to my post from above. I went out to pick up a few items at the store just after I posted that. While I was away, my lovely wife was reading the site and read this thread and my post on it. When I came back through the door, she told me to stay there and took a picture of me to show you all what I was dressed like when I OC'ed to the store. As you can see, I do not try to camouflage the gun. No comments, no strange looks, no adverse reactions in any way. And I saw 2 other people open carrying while I was there.

It really is a non-issue around here.

Besides, whats the point of having a BBQ gun and a fancy holster that matches your boots if you can't show them off?

Open carry is legal in WA.

I will not open carry around town, but if I did it would be located similar to the way I carry a SW 44 mag in AK wilderness....cross draw center of chest OR maybe a shoulder holster.

As suits my mood & situation

I OC quite a bit during the warmer months, with no issues whatsoever. If anything, folks that don't recognize and/or know me generally keep a "socially appropriate" distance" from me, and that's a plus.
When the weather is cooler, or I just feel like it, I CC. My wife insists my posture, gait, and expression make it clear to the world that I am watching and should probably be left alone, gun or no gun. I left the Army, but it never totally left me!

Well, it is legal in Michigan, and I do. Oddly, most people don't even notice. Those that do, are VERY polite. :)

Open, open, open. All that stuff about BGs targeting firearm carriers is bunk. Criminals look for the path of least resistance. They aren't out looking to target someone who will and has the means to resist their aggression.

Jerry, I'll take Comfortable Mode of Carry for 200 please.
