Can you OC in states if you are not a resident?

I was at the opencarry website but it doesn't say anything about not being a resident and not being able to carry and all...

so I was curious. What states can you OC that you are not a resident of?

too bad FL doesn't have OC here :( I don't think we ever will either.

As far as I know, there is no residency requirement to open carry in any state that allows it.

Good question, I doubt that has even been considered by most lawmakers.

That is correct. All of a state's firearms laws regarding the carry and transportation of firearms will apply to non-residents as well as residents, with the exception that if you are travelling through a state and it is not your destination, you can transport your weapons according to 18 USC 926a (FOPA) and disregard the state's transport laws.

Kentucky.... As long as you are the ripe young age of 18, anyone can open carry.

In Georgia as long as you have a permit from a reciprocal state you can open carry. Some areas frown on it though. Other states that do not require a license for open carry should be no problems.

When you are in a state, you are expected to follow the rules of that state. This goes for vehicles, firearms, commerce.......

Make sure you check state and local laws first. If I'm not mistaken the city of Philly requires you have a CHP even for open carry.
