on Armed Forces day, coincidence? I don't normally venture so far south, but I'll keep it in mind.

I got scolded by a park ranger in Lory State on Sunday for open carry. She said I could CC with my permit and didn't hassle me (comparativley I suppose) but said I couldn't OC unless I was hunting. (Lory is open for hunting)

The precise location of the Hobie Hill picnic shelter in Cherry Creek State Park is:
039 degrees 38 minutes 14.54 seconds north latitude
104 degrees 52 minutes 20.45 seconds west longitude

Cherry Creek State Park is just south of I-225 and just west of Parker Road in Aurora. The picnic shelter rented for the occasion is closest to the west entrance to the park, which is just east of the intersection of South Yosemite Street and East Union Avenue.

You are not required to carry openly to attend this soiree.

after the fact

The OC picnic was a success; about 25 people plus a few dogs and kids showed up. About 23 of the adults were carrying openly. No one else (park rangers, other LEOs, passers-by) showed any interest in us while I was there, between 12:00 and 16:30.
