I hope I see a OC'er some day. But, I have to admit, I'm probably as guilty as all the "sheep", as I probably wouldn't even notice. SOmething about having two small toddlers running around pulling everything off the shelves that just makes everything/everyone else dissappear :)

Some leo agencies will force you to wait the 30 days regardless of whether your CPL is done or not. I called Island County Sherriff about mine and the lady got all indignant and informed me I was on day 29! She said she would "do me a favor" and check to see if was done, and then said that it was and I could come get it that afternoon.

Check out the Washington forum at OpenCarry.org - A Right Unexercised is a Right Lost!. Bellevue picnic is not this weekend, but next weekend.

An IWB holster without cover garment becomes OC. If installed outside but under the belt it becomes 100% visible.

Same with shoulder. Remove the cover and you are good to go.

So what you are telling me is Snohomish might have been done with this for days, but they purposely hold it for 30 days? They didn't wait 30 days to take my money!

My problem is I took the Utah course while I was visiting my family in Utah. All of this happened while I was living in Oregon. Now I live here in WA, am in the process of becoming a resident, getting the OR CCL for neighboring state resident, and roughly 65+ days on my Utah non resident CCL. I don't see a reason to get a WA CCL since the UT one covers it already and I thought I would have received the thing by now. Any negatives you can think of to not getting my WA license?

Some states require residents to possess their permit and not that of another state. Check the WA regs.

Your UTAH or Oregon CCL is NOT valid in Washington state once you become a resident of Washington state:

RCW 9.41.073
Concealed pistol license — Reciprocity.

(1)(a) A person licensed to carry a pistol in a state the laws of which recognize and give effect in that state to a concealed pistol license issued under the laws of the state of Washington is authorized to carry a concealed pistol in this state if:

(i) The licensing state does not issue concealed pistol licenses to persons under twenty-one years of age; and

(ii) The licensing state requires mandatory fingerprint-based background checks of criminal and mental health history for all persons who apply for a concealed pistol license.

(b) This section applies to a license holder from another state only while the license holder is not a resident of this state. A license holder from another state must carry the handgun in compliance with the laws of this state.

(2) The attorney general shall periodically publish a list of states the laws of which recognize and give effect in that state to a concealed pistol license issued under the laws of the state of Washington and which meet the requirements of subsection (1)(a)(i) and (ii) of this section.

Yep. Spokane does the same thing. You have to wait the 30 days. Not sure why.

Because they can't be bothered to actually call a person when their CPL is ready. It's easier for them to just tell the person to not come back or "bother" them for 30 days.
