Thanks!

The media made it sound like carrying in bars was legalized... I was super disappointed when I found out otherwise.

Ironic story, Mike, for I too went to my favorite Mexican restaurant this evening, "dressed", but things were slightly different.

I hate to post names directly when it's something negative, I find it to be in bad taste, but it is what it is, and helping others to be preemptive about legal matters rings important to me.

In Lebanon TN, a little place called Los Compadres, and I went to get a little bite to eat with my fiance. We went in, all went well and the food was great, not unlike every other time I run in. However, upon our exit, the cashier guy asked, "Hey, you got your gun with you today?" knowing that I am a regular who drops in frequently (and open carries), he would know that I carry. I replied, "Yes sir!" with a grin as I handed him a twenty and a five. He then notified me they just recently "posted" the restaurant. I let him know that the notion was unfortunate, especially for someone who appreciates quality Mexican food in our town. His response was, "Well, it's just that we got all these complaints. . ." I glanced at him and muttered "is that right?" and took my leave.

I was a bit offended because it was obvious there had probably been little to zero complaints about me legally open carrying, and the post was due to someone's personal problem. Frankly, it felt like a personal attack at me because I know that very few people OC in that part of town (smallish town).

Sad to say, they probably lost my business.

I notice that they got your money before telling you that the restaurant had been "posted". Did you see any such posting as you entered?

Took my course at TN Custom Gunsmithing (615)505-9626. Nice pistol range. Cost $100, which is little more than some other places, but it's a good course.

Chemicalpoet...based on your response to the guy at the restaurant you were in a position to educate him, but quit short before making your point. You had the perfect opportunity to inform him that his sign won't stop the thug from bringing in his gun, but will only deter folks like you, the legal law abiders. If this is a restaurant you frequent often, I would go back and try to have this conversation with the manager or owner.
