I really don't see what the uproar is all about. Even the Secret Service says it's no big deal.
When Teddy Roosevelt was president people carried guns to his events all the time. They would even fire them in the air, much to his delight. I guess that's the difference between a president that respects the Second Amendment and one that doesn't.

Exactly. "Uproar" comes from the century of brainwashing we've been subjected to, the dumbing-down we have endured. It's all spin and lunacy.

For upstanding people, carrying a gun is no different than putting on the brown shoes, or grabbing the wallet. The elected "kings" should stop acting as such, and accept it for what it is. It is not about wanting to see them endangered; rather, it's about wanting to stop bending over with a witless smile while we lose everything we stand for. It's about stopping the corrupted morass, one step at a time. It's about time, absolutely.

For criminals, though, absolutely string 'em by the toes when they transgress. No different than at any other time.

Votes Yes, 62% Yes versus 38% No. Surprising results based on where the poll is being conducted. Some of the comments against are hilarious.

"Carrying guns in the USA actually violates Amendment 2 of the Bill of Rights. It needs to be restudied by many folks to get it right!"

Wonder what country 2nd amendment she is referring to.

"Anyone carrying a weapon at a public gathering is implicitly threatening and endangering others at the event."

"It's outrageous. A bunch of nuts with guns, how do the cops know who is authorized to even have it at that point. Idiocy!!"

I voted yes, as I believe it is appropriate for a free citizen to exercise their Constitutional Rights at their own discretion. That's kinda' the point of having them...

Would I do it? No, not likely.

But I'm not certain that this isn't just an open invitation for more gun laws. The "No firearm within X Distance of a Government Offical Law" would then be an easy sell.

Also, if there was a shot taken (please Heaven forbid) at whatever Official was present, the guy doing the OC would certainly be on a short list of addresses for bullets to be delivered. Not that the Secret Service would intentionally shoot an non-guilty party, just that they hear "GUN!", then pop-pop-pop, and they know where at least one gun is.

I just gotta feelin' that it's a bad idea...

I voted "no"

Ok who am I kidding. I voted "yes" but only because they didn't have a stronger option.
