It's interesting to read the Concealed Cary and Open Carry Forums. The CC Forum posts are frequently on the vein of "don't let the BG see your gun but keep it for a surprise". Here, it's more in-your-face I've got a gun so don't cross me.

When I worked and lived in the mountains, it was common practice to OC. Folks mainly ignore it unless you carry something fancy.

I learned shortly after I arrived there when I discovered I was being stalked by a very large mountain lion while checking the water supply pipe way outside of camp. My returning the same way I came must have scared it off, while seeing those prints in the snow scared me nearly outta my boots.

OC kinda has to be in your face. The ability is becoming a blue law (you are allowed to do it, but no one does because LEO will give you a hard time, etc).

That's really the point of OC. That, and here in MI you can OC without a permit. Also, once you have a permit, you can OC in places you can't CC (weird).

Though this may be somewhat true, violence would still take place. Also, guns HAVE been manufactured and there is not turning back from that unless all the people who knew how to make something like a firearm were wiped of the face of this planet. So since guns have been manufactured, law abding citizens should have the right to own and carry a firearm if they choose to help level the playing field against criminals who choose to use firearms unlawfully.

i genrally don't respond to morons in public anymore. the more i have to, the less i like leaving my apartment. i just ignore them, unless they get overly verbally agressive; then i respond in kind, until they get the message: i'm not going to be a victim, to either a violent criminal or a idiot with an attitude problem.

and i'd find another doctor, if i were you. you're paying the man, probably a pretty penny, to treat you, not to offer unwanted opinions that have nothing to do with medicine. i had this problem with a doctor; i simply walked out, and found another one within hours. you can, too.

Indiana is an open carry state, but I always conceal my weapon, I believe this gives me an advantage. I don't walk around with my fists balled up either but I can throw a pretty good punch. Surprise seems to give an edge.

Open carry's legal in Ohio. I just don't do it. I also don't waste my time condemning people who open carry. Carry in whatever way that's lawful that suits you. Anybody else is free to not like it. They're NOT free to violate your rights, cop or not.

I would have told the drunk to go sober up and I'd find a new doctor. I OC all the time, have for years and have never had a bad experience. Maybe I just look as if I won't put up with it, but it's never happened. Have had a number of people ask what I'm carrying. My doctor is a avid hunter, shooter and reloader and is also a SHE!

Please explain what this would accomplish. Perhaps you think Mr Beerman would hear this, fall to his knees, beg your forgiveness for his rude remark, then go to church and sign up for AA that afternoon.

If the beer-toting goomba was actually inebriated, this would be considered taunting, and you are as much at fault as this bozo at this point.

If you're going to stand for your 2A rights, and want to represent gun owners, you have an obligation to simply walk away.

Why do guys always want to switch to what my wife calls the male "rooster mode", and take the second "punch" in a squabble like this?

Daddy Mac always taught us to never wrestle with the pigs. He said, "you both get dirty, angry, and injured, but the pig enjoys it."

Sorry to hear about your bad day.

I have openly and concealed carry in both TN and KY. While in either state I had no problems. My brother is stationed at Campbell and lives in TN.
I sat by some state patrol at the diner and they didnt give me a hassle or anything.

Will be heading to TN here in about 2 weeks. I might open carry all the way there. MO law is weird on open carrying as it is regulated at the county and city level but as long as I don't get out of the vehicle its legal everywhere.

I like packing my .44. Its big. HAHA

Seems like more and more people are OCing and CCing.
Good to see.
