First Day Open Carry!

in Georgia I can do either, but I do CCW. Cause if I am in a Stop and Rob and there is another BG that is intending to Rob It, he is likely to shoot me first then rob the place in the mayhem that follows, vs me doing the CCW and stopping him at the check out line... I do the CCW and you will never see me unless I need to be seen.

This scenario is a MYTH

Cite me one proven instance where this happens. And LEO don't count.

As for the OP you did a good job! I would look into a new doctor though!

Just because you can't find it with Google doesn't make it a "myth." And in the documented instances when a criminal has been interrupted in the act and shot a uniformed police officer, what makes you think that the same criminal wouldn't shoot an OC citizen, perhaps mistaking him for a cop?

The only reason that a situation like this is not heard of is the extreme rarity of OC in most places where the crime rate is high. City people really don't OC much as a general rule, and rural folks that do OC are not likely to run into the Bloods or the Crips robbing the local convenience mart.

You wouldn't think that a criminal would be brazen enough to walk into a gun shop and knock the OC'ing clerk in the head and rob the place either, would ya?

Everyone is free to carry as it is legal in their jurisdiction, either OC or CC. But don't pretend that OC is a magic talisman that wards off evil. Even in the OP's story, his OC handgun agitated someone instead of scaring him away. If he had been a meth head hungry for a score, instead of just a sloppy drunk, things may not have gone as well. Criminals and lunatics don't think like us normal people. Ignore that fact at your own risk.

Well what if the BG saw you and he didn't see your gun and just decided to shoot you and take your valuables or just for the fun of it?

But what if the BG saw your gun and decided not to risk his life when there is easier prey down the road?

I think the BG would be more likely to confront a OCer if the BG is high or drunk on some chemical concoction but if the BG is not he/she/it will probably move on to easier prey.

That's what I would do anyway if I was a BG. I wouldn't go after OCer he or she might have a buddy around the corner. Who knows?

There are so many scenarios who knows whats going through the BG's head.

I don't think it was all that bad. After all, you didn't get arrested and tossed into jail.
