Isn't it a crime to make a false report?

Her: "Well I don't think it's a good idea with kids riding around and such"

This is exactally what the manager at Walmart said to me last night when he questioned why I was carrying a gun in the open, see my post here in Open Carry Issues.

He said something very similar, "I don't think it's a good idea for you to be carrying a gun around women and children who are in the store".

The whole "think of the children!" excuse is wearing thin quickly... I know a 10 year old that has more firearm knowledge in his head than several of the local LEO's.

I hear things weren't like this 20-25 years ago. I think I was born in the wrong time period.

I've come to the conclusion anyone using children as a argument for anything is brain dead.

"Brandishing," eh?

Silly lady is all I've got to say.
Some people should learn the meaning of terms too big for them to use in public. A false claimant of "brandishing" is what she was. I wonder what the statute is, in that state, covering knowingly filing a false police report? Oh ... that's right. She didn't know the meaning of the term "brandishing." Silly person has been watching too many bleeping soap operas on the mind-number at home.

Seems to me that a simple question or two could have cleared up the misinterpretation, at the time of the calling in of the false report. I wonder if the police asked any questions of the person, such as:
"Brandishing in this state requires an intentional display for purposes of intimidation, generally involving waving it about or making threatening gestures or claims about it. Was that happening, ma'am? Or, was this person simply going about normal business in his own neighborhood?"
Seems to me that weed-whacking in a front yard cannot constitute "brandishing" no matter how many meds the lady forgot to take.

Her: "Well I don't think it's a good idea with kids riding around and such"
She obviously has never been on the receiving end of a "successful" rape or mugging, nor had a child taken from the neighborhood. The mere fact children and weaker sorts are around is one of the most important reasons for being prepared to thwart crime against us, actually. Just saying 'no' only worked on television commercials in the 1980's anyway; it never was very effective with criminals.

If only ...
Her: *A little bit of attitude* "Do you really need that"?
Me: "Need what"?
Her: "Your gun"?
Me: "Only criminals know for sure."
Her: "Out in the open though"?
Me: "Ma'am, the local Criminals' Union hasn't had me on their mailing list for decades. So, I have no idea when their next 'event' in our neighborhood is going to be held. Do you happen to know?"
Her: "Huh?"
Me: "Hard to use what you don't have with you, isn't it?
Her: "Huh?"
Me: "Thankfully, the People of the state of PA realized that having the ability to defend ourselves against criminals was one of the absolute rights the people retained and did not relinquish to anyone at any time. Got to love PA. Nice chatting with you ... but I've got a lawn to mow."

Im just gonna make a small printout I can hand people.

titled "20 answers to the questions you are about to ask me",

and another handout "Calling the cops on me could take the resources away from them saving the life of someone under real duress and not your pansy sheepish govt indoctrinated fears"

How would that fly?

Hopefully she was peeking out her window and noticed the fast response she got from the police. 15 minutes actually is faster than the norm I believe.
