It is very important that progress continue on second amendment issues. Every enemy we make hurts the cause. Missouri is a 50 - 50 state. Illinois and Wisconsin do not have concealed carry. That will change when enough of the legislators change. This will take more voters friendly to 2A insisting on the change. Right now in southwest Missouri there is a state senator that is anti 2A and in a powerful enough position to continue to impede stand your ground laws outside the house and car. Every local voter needs to find out what their state and federal legislators are really doing, not what they say they are doing. Enemies among the sheep only make our progress more difficult.

I did not mean to sound like I do not care about there views. I will respect any property owners rights and rules. I will also listen to there side.
I do not dress like a hooligan in public OCing or CCing.
I meant more say just because they dont want us to carry or feel it inappropriate we should not let them keep us from doing it.

If you're open carrying and you make a fool of yourself, of course you're going to make the "sheep" uncomfortable, and even more so when they realize you have a firearm on your belt. If you're clean cut and not looking like you just came out of a war zone, I think most people will assume you're a police officer or should they ask you if you're one, engage in a polite conversation with that person or persons as to why you're OCing and that it is legal. If they decide to go off on you, do your best to keep your cool and calmly disengage further interaction with them.

Being polite and professional can go a long way in changing peoples perception of gun owners and the 2nd Amendment.

I think to dismiss a fellow citizen for not sharing your views on a particular gun issue is a little short sighted to the big picture. I feel like its important to convert people, not drive them further away.
Amen. To ridicule those who exercise their freedom of choice not to carry a weapon borders on the hypocritical in my opinion. Those of us who choose to carry are no better or worse than those who choose otherwise. We are just better protected. Talking to a number of people who choose not to carry has convinced me that it may be better that they don't. To refer to people as "sheep" or "sheeple" or any other deprecating name is the same as them referring to us as paranoid, guntoting freaks, and does nothing to further our cause.

My two centavos, YMMV.

Your wisdom runs deep.

I agree. If enough sheep become uncomfortable they can cause a lot of trouble when it comes time to vote, and businesses can be made to feel the pain if they permit OC against the will of the sheep.

I believe that it is important to remember that we are sheep in some respects also.

There may be a political philosophy that you may not agree with that might very well be sensible if viewed with dispassionate logic.

So...

Give a darn, and the sentiment MIGHT be reciprocated.

JMO, I think that sentiment has proved over the years to not be a equally traveled two way street. Especially in times of uncertainty, a more ridged and defined stance on defensive matters should serve you better. JMO.

I personally don't care about the sheep at all, they get what they deserve for being sheep, but for the record, I carry concealed to preserve my element of surprise....

But if an open carry law were ever passed in my state I would gladly exercise it, much to the chagrin of the sheep in my family....
