Who cares how the sheep feels?!!!

I am new to these boards. I have been reading old posts.

One I did see mentioned a few times is that other people are uncomfortable about an OCer.

IF you are knew to Open Carry dont care about how some sheep feels.

You are protecting yourself in the best way you see fit by the rights granted by the constitution.

Dont let some sheep rule your life.

The thing is that the sheep are voters too, scared sheep at the ballot box is a bad thing. While I agree that we shouldn't act solely to make them "feel safe" but we do need to consider the potential impact of a negative image based on our actions and interactions with those sheep.

It's the sheep that vote. Piss off enough of them often enough and that's how laws get changed.

I'm only a sheepdog for my own family...the rest of the sheep need to hire their own sheepdog, and I agree with Bark'n.

When you work for yourself, going to people homes, and rely on customers of all walks of life, you have to try and stay somewhat neutral. My livelyhood literally depends on it. Its a fact of life. I'd loose customers if some people knew I carried. Especially OC. It's quite frustrating. I'd like to be more open here in town. Maybe get together an open carry picnic or something. But I just can't.

Amen to that. Well said. We don't want to be losing in the courts of public opinion. To do so only hurts our cause.

I do care how they (the sheeple) feel to an extent. I carry openly but I do it in the utmost responsible and safe manner. I use a level II security holster. I dress in a presentable manner and I am polite, even if someone were to have an adverse reaction to my openly carried firearm. I think of myself as an Ambassador of Open Carry to the uninformed. I have had interactions with people (mostly from a state other than Tennessee) who come from an anti mind set and have left after speaking to me with at least a different opinion of people who carry. It's because I didn't rant about my right to carry and how I didn't care if they liked it or not, even if that is exactly how I feel.

Bark'n is right, we may not agree with the sheeple, but they vote and are citizens of the USA as much as we are. To just treat them as scum just because they don't carry or don't support our right to do so isn't exactly civil or in our best interest.

Who cares about how the sheep feel? WE CARE ABOUT HOW THE SHEEP FEEL.

I've only got two sheep to worry about. Fortunately I do ALL the voting when it comes to protecting them.

I think to dismiss a fellow citizen for not sharing your views on a particular gun issue is a little short sighted to the big picture. I feel like its important to convert people, not drive them further away.
