A great highway clean-up effort that probably will NOT go unnoticed.

One of the participants in the Minnesota event was interviewed on NRA's "Cam & Company". To view it:

  • Go to NRA
  • At the top of the screen, click on “Program Archive”
  • On the top right, click on the “October 27” tab
  • Scroll down and click on the “Jason Walberg” story

To be fair, it wasn't an Open Carry event. It was too cold for that.

The interview is at 1:42, or the podcast is available at http://mncarrypermitholders.com

Hmm... we can open carry rifles and shotguns in Texas, right? Perhaps we should strap some AR's to our backs and pick up trash... that'd be noticeable, right?

Here's a new OC Highway Cleanup being organized in Wisconsin, if anybody is close and wants to go.

The article in the Rochester Post-Bulletin quotes an interview of someone who was open carrying at the cleanup...was that inaccurate?

Excellent.

Invariably, though, there will be those who will make their views known as to how undeserving the group is, and how insulting the assignment of that stretch of roadway to such a group as theirs, blah blah blah. There were even such statements of worry and fear-mongering from some in the media.

The "Cam & Co." video on the NRA site was nicely done. Telling the truth, simply. I've seen a number of interviews done by Cam, previously. He's not so in-your-face as some, but he goes right for the jugular with simple, clear questions. As for the Minnesota OC group, it's nice to see a good group doing a publicly-visible community service like that. Good idea. The Adopt-A-Highway thing is something that CC and OC groups in every state can do.

Kudos, MN OC!

The article said there was a gun clipped to his belt. It wasn't actually OC'ed.

Nor was this a Minnesota OC group. Some members of the group that assembled for this cleanup are very pro-OC and others are well I'm not sure, but at least more prone to concealing.

As princewally said, it was cooler. Had it been warmer, some of us might have been OC'ing. It was cool that we were able to get the coverage we did without anybody OC'ing though. We looked pretty "ordinary" that day.

The article was a bit misleading then, since if the reporter knew there "was a gun clipped to his belt" that sure sounded OC to me!

Great event whatever the carry status of the working volunteers!
