Do You Keep A Bug-out Bag Ready To Go ?

I have posted this on the Texas CHL Forum. Thought I'd ask here also.
What would your BUG-OUT stuff be?
What kind of bag would you use?
Just lookin' for some of your ideas.

There's a few threads we've had in the past that detail this very topic, but yes, I keep a BOB. One main, which is my hiking backpack that is ready to go, just add water and additional food. I have one small one I keep in my vehicle for emergency purposes.

Yeah we've had a few threads on this. I keep a Maxpedition JUMBO versipak filled with first aid stuff especially TRAUMA stuff for treating big and bloody events like a sucking chest wound or compound fractures. I could fit a gun and some ammo in there, too. I have the holster insert for the bag. I also keep a SureFire light and sp batteries in the bag, not much else. I don't plan on "bugging out" as long as I live in Miami FL. It would be suicide under almost any real emergency conditions likely to arise without substantial warning (like a CAT 5 Hurricane--those you see coming from a long way off, but not a 911 style attack). When we sell here in four years or so, we'll move to NC and build the ultimate retirement/survival retreat and so I won't need to bug out.

I am in the process of building a BoB, as well as a truck kit, and a "Bug-in" house kit. I'm trying to keep everything modular, but capable of saving my life in any SHTF situation.

If you have a bug out bag you need to have a plan on where to bug out to. I could just imagine several thousand people bugging out to the same wilderness locations outside of developed areas, all armed, all scrounging for the limited resources in the area. Chaos and warfare.

I have a bug out bag and a bug out location ( remote acreage ).

This may not be quite what you're talking about as a "Bug-In" house kit, but I'm assembling a burglar alarm in the middle of the night kit (too lazy for hyphens), to be kept at bedside. It originally was to be assembled on a 2.25" nylon duty belt w/quick release buckle. Items on the belt would be an XD 45, 2 spare mags, flashlight, and cell phone. Then I got some good advice that a pistol fanny pack might be a better alternative - I could still carry the items previously mentioned, plus the all-important car & house keys, driver's license, CHL, proof of insurance, money, and credit cards. I'm embarrassed to say that I hadn't even considered the last set of stuff.

I have survival kits in each vehicle ( i farm and ranch in Colorado so that is a given ) My bugout locations are under 50 miles away in two directions , and are fully stocked with food , fueled with propane etc .. so i don't have a real bug out kit per se , its more a weapons and TP loadout that i pitch paperwork , prescriptions , legal docs etc on top of . In my area we don't see Katrina type stuff , and when we do see stuff like last winters blizzard well you cannot move effectively anyway . Its pretty much shelter in place unless and until martial law is declared , then its get to heck off the highway(s) for the duration .
