Just curious about what you guys thought about wearing "tactical" item(s) w/o the specific need.

Gun guys might notice. Cops might notice... I think most ordinary folk see a guy in all black, a duty belt with a half-ton of gear, and a mic on the shoulder to be a cop. Don't think many of 'em are that good at detecting off-duty cops.

I wear mine to my JOB every single day. I started that this school year and I've worn about five pairs OUT. So being a school teacher, wearing 5*11s...does that make me a SCHOOL ninja? Or a school sheepdog? Obviously, I'm not armed on the job...well....not so as you'd notice. I ususally have the front section of the Miami Herald rolled into a cylinder and cached under my left arm. Of course tomorrow is my last teacher workday for the year. After noon tomorrow I'm off for the next nine weeks....

Cargo pants are everywhere, which I like. However, 5.11 pants are very noticible and very different than other carge pants. More specifically the tan ones. Its not the everyday folks who will likely spot ya, but more likely those who get locked up and those who lock'm up. In that crown 5.11s scream one thing.

I do hope that UPS approves them. Will drive the price of the brown ones down, as I know several ooopss's and use the brown ones for hunting. And your right it will make them more noticible and more acceptable.

This got me thinking:
I wear cammo pattern cargo pants with additional pockets on the calves. My shirt has pockets on the breast and shoulders. Additional pockets for knee and elbow pads. I keep a flack vest, load bearing vest, and helmet in my locker. Maybe I'm a mall ninja?
