I keep a full trauma kit in my truck, no first aid stuff in my range bag.

band-aids
hoppes rem-oil cotton squares cleaning rod + attachments ammo ears eyes flathead screwdriver dental pic Tampon (for stuffing any GSW) (properly applied will stop arterial bleeding as it expands) A clotting agent seems like a great idea that I never considered. good idea for when things go from shtf to tarfu. Anyone have any experiance with anything other than QuikClot? I've heard alot of negative things about it. http://www.defensetech.org/archives/000458.html and if you do use it which kit do you use? the granulated stuff or the stuff embedded in gause/bandage.

They are for my wife. She refuses to load mags without them. And its not just for me, as she thankfully enjoys shooting as well. I find I can load mags by hand as fast or faster than using a mag loader so I leave them to her. Now if I was in a 4 day training class, shooting all day every day, I would probably use them too.

The first aid kit in my bad isn't ideal for a GSW, but it will due until someone can get to the truck to get a bigger kit or the white truck with lots of lights shows up. It has pressure dressings and Quick Clot and a tourniquet if that's called for. I'd hate to only have it available if someone had a sucking chest wound, but if you take a bullet to the forearm or lower leg, it will probably get you through- and if it is a self inflicted accidental wound, those areas (and hand) are where I'd guess it would happen.
