Belt Comparison

Just wondering how the Uncle Mikes Instructor belt compares to the Wilderness Instructor belt.

I just got the 1 1/2" Wilderness Instructor and it is a solid piece of work- both the belt and the buckle. I have no idea what the Uncle Mike's is like but I am very pleased with my purchase - about $35.

While I would recommend the Wilderness over the UM, the UM is a good product. I've been using one for about 6 months and it's held up fine.

Since the Wilderness is only about $10 more, I would have gone with that, but I needed one right away and the Mike's was the only thing immediately available.

I also have a Galco (kidney problems put on an extra 60# for a few months) and it's a little nicer than the Uncle Mike's, but more expensive than the Wilderness. Again, needed one right away so I had to go with what was available.

I picked up a 5.11 copy of the Wilderness thinking it was a good buy at $19.99 but for half the price I got exactly what I paid for... half the belt!

Get a Wilderness! I now have three of them!

I only have the Wilderness Instructor's belt...two of them, actually! One is almost new, the other is almost 4 years old...neither show wear!
I can only speak for the Instructor's type belt...but you do get what you pay for...

I would stick with the Wilderness belts. Several have found their way in to my wardrobe. None have ever let me (or my pants) down. Some of the UM nylon products that I have seen have been of less than quality construction.
