The New WILSON 1911 Magazines: Merged
![]() Mfr: WILSON COMBAT Ultra-Reliable, Smooth Feeding Of All 8 Rounds; Same Size As Standard Mag Wilson Combat applied 30 years of experience building high-performance 1911 magazines to develop this completely new, ultra-reliable 8-round magazine for combat, competition, or self-defense. Made with state-of-the-art materials using the latest manufacturing technology, these magazines are built tough to keep running in unforgiving, real-world conditions. The body formed from extra-thick stainless steel, with the radius of each curve engineered to minimize stress points, virtually eliminates feed lip cracking and stress fatigue. Even the position of the numbered witness holes toward the rear is designed to enhance structural integrity. A proprietary welding, deburring, and polishing process provides an unusually strong, super-smooth seam to ensure snag-free follower movement and easy insertion in the mag well. The non-tilt follower of self-lubricating polymer fully supports the ammo stack to prevent nose-dives, double feeds, and other hang-ups. The mag body design puts less tension on the spring than most 7-round magazines, increasing spring life and making it easy to seat a fully loaded magazine with the slide closed. The polymer base pad adds minimal bulk yet ensures a firm purchase even when your hands are wet; removes easily for cleaning. Numbers 1 through 10 stamped on the bottom help you mark each of your magazines to track usage and performance. SPECS: 17-7 stainless steel, bright polished finish, with black polymer follower and base pad. 8‑round capacity. $34.95 from Brownell's

I picked up three of them a couple of weeks ago.
They ran flawlessly thorough any 1911 I used.

Instead of modifying a old design, this time they started from scratch. I might have to pick up a couple three myself!

Just curious if anyone has seen these. I am thinking of ordering a couple. Thoughts?

The Wilson 47Ds I have have NEVER malfunctioned, ever. How are the new mags better? You can pick up a 47D for $25 if you search but the new mags are $35. No thanks, Wilson is good but they seem to be getting full of themselves.

I have to agree with Mtbiker here, the 47D mags are already good, so why do they need to be "improved"?
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Almost all the malfunctions I haver had with 1911s have been magazine related.
All of my Kimber's would not function all the time with their factory mags. Also, some of my other brand mags have had issues....with the exception of the Wilson ones....they seem to function really well..... So will I be buying any of the new improved ones?......Yes, as soon as the price comes down!
