Okay Doug... I repent!
(Good post!)While reading your post I remembered I had a small AAA Mag Light I could add to my keys so I now officially carry a light ALL the time! I do have 2 SureFires and a Gladiator and I always carry one of those at night. ![]()

Surefire L4. I bought it as a backup light for work and to use personally, but after a few days on the job- it was my main light. When we hired another technician, he got my old Streamlite.

I must be an oddity but I don't carry one and don't see an everyday use for one. My job does not require the need for one and I can't remember the last time, if ever, that I needed to have one on my person while out and about doing normal everyday things. I carry one in the car and have several in the garage and around the house including my night stand but even those I rarely use. I think having one on a gun is simply a gigantic arrow pointing me our and silhouetting me to a potential attacker in the dark. He can see me, and can see me coming, but I can't see him. I don't see a tactical advantage to that. So with all that said let the flamming begin.

No, but I'm thinking I probably need to. We have Ultrastingers at home (one upstairs, one downstairs) and an old Surefire 6P - I think, anyway - that's in the garage. Always seemed sufficient, and I'm not out and about in the world after dark. But, now I'm finding that outside the house at night, my eyes just won't pick up detail as well as when I was younger. It's not a 'shoot or not' situation, more like I'm just trying to see if there's dog poop from our shepherd in front of me.
I posted on some other thread about opening up a Surefire L4 a while ago -- and that may end up being the one for carrying all the time. |

I carry a G2Z all the time, and my wife has a G2. Also a G2 in each car, and an M2 on my USPc at night. All the Surefires have Cree LED bulbs (it makes a big difference in battery life and brightness).
