Surefire Executive E1e in a blackhawk kydex holster in most situations. I have a Blackhawk gladius, but its just to big for most situations. If my law enforcement career ever starts I will carry it on duty instead of a huge mag light.

Normally when I go out at night (when its not too cold or hot, as the batteries drain easier), I have a black 3D maglite. On my person at all times (except in pool, shower) is one of my two Coast V2 LED lights. Super bright beam, adequate out to 50', can blind somebody.

To my shame, I have to confess that I carry a little old Brinkmann that uses two AA cells. I've had it for years, use it when plumbing and at all other times. The thing's nearly indestructible and it's lasted for years. I've spent two hours in a dark attic installing a water heater with this light in my teeth. It's always with me and I use it every day to enlighten myself about one thing or another.
That said, my mother-in-law got it for me as a Christmas present long before I began carrying CCWs and discovered the better flashlights that are out there. But for under $20, it's a good deal and very dependable.
