Just added a Surefire 6P with a Malkoff Devices drop in to the stable. It's my new favorite.

When it is dark or near dark I carry/wear a mountaineering quality headlamp or flashlight when I am outside. ...I spend a lot of time outside.
Also at least one in each vehicle plus a maglite or two. House has the same type stuff plus a battery lantern and a couple of propane lanterns.

I keep one on my person at work, one in the car, one by the bed, and one to move with the gun.

I have several different flashlights for any and all occasions. Yes, I always have one tactical type on me at all times.
Usually these days, either my Surefire or a new no name one I got of ebay that has a K2 luxeon led that boasts 120 lumens. I really like it because it's a little thinner and longer than the Surefire P-6 so it does double duty as a Kubotan! It is also brighter than the 65 lumen Surefire although because of the LED spectrum, it doesn't seem quite as sharp of a beam as the Xenon lamps. Still it is an incredibly good tactical light.

Generally - it's not as habitual as the EDC stuff, but whenever I don't. carry it, I need it! Murphy's Law in action.

Since I first responded I picked up a SureFire E2E. I clipped it in my pocket and have been carrying it every day since. I hardly know it's there until I need it. This is one very sweet light! Thanks to those who recommended it!!!

As John Farnum says...it can be as important as your firearm...and you can use it at your dicretion....that is NOT a direct quote...
a flashlight..IMO is more important than a knife in many situations. I carry either a Dorcy Spyder, or a G2 surefire with the 120 lumen lamp upgrade.
