The Green Laser

I went to the range to qualify some people for the AR. CHL and met a member of the gun club there.

He had one of the new green lasers mounted on a Beretta Storm Carbine in .45 caliber. I had read up on the green lasers but until today had never messed with one.

I gotta say that thing was awesome. We all know that the red lasers are pretty poor performers in direct sunlight, but the green laser has no such problem. In fact, at 100 and 200 yards it was bright enough to be detected by the eye, and this was in bright sunlight.

It is so bright that it is very easy to see. In the dark,or shadowed areas, its even better.

I can see that this green laser may actually be of use being mounted on a gun. I've got a few lasers, but to tell you the truth I was not a big fan of them, preferring to just use the sights but this thing has me rethinking it. I may have to break down and get one.

Anyone ever try one ?
Whatdya think ?

If you dress a monkey up in fancy clothes, its still just a monkey wearing fancy clothes.

I think I've just made up my new signature line.

Just curious, is the beam itself visible? On some green lasers (I don't have any experience with weapon mounted ones though), the beam itself is visible.

In an LEO entry team situation, it would be wonderful to know which dot is yours. I've seen a dozen red dots swarming all over a room. How do you know?
