Thumbs up Product Review: Hatch EM007-MD Shooting Gloves

Some of you saw my thread asking about shooting gloves. In that thread I got several good recommendations, but ultimately went with the Hatch EM007 Elite Marksman shooting gloves.

My main reasons for getting gloves was:
1 - *some* weather protection (cold and wet)
2 - some hand protection for long range days
3 - some protection from training with paint rounds
4 - increased grip in sweaty/tactical situations

First impressions:
I really liked how these felt the first time I put them on. The kangaroo skin palm is nice and has great grip on things, and the material on the back is breathable but covers well. I like how far these go up my wrist as well. I practiced some concealed draws with them on and they were flawless...as fast as with no gloves and they didn't get hung up on anything extra in the process.

Range impressions:
Exactly what I was looking for. Great grip on the pistol. Had no issues with being able to handle the pistol for any action. I loaded empty mags, depressed the mag release, racked the slide, locked the slide from racked position, and did everything else the way I could without gloves. They were great. Shooting went really well too, one of my best shooting days at the range.

Negatives:
Size. I found a site that carried them that had Hatch's recommended sizing based on a measurement around the hand just below the knuckles. This led me to a Medium size. The palm fits great but the fingers are a little long for me, but I have big palms and shorter fingers...so this was to be expected. The only thing that could improve the gloves would be a little shorter fingers which would speed up the process of loading rounds into the mags. A few times the extra material at the end would get caught between rounds.

Here are some pics of my pair gripping the pistol:

Hope the review was beneficial. I would recommend these gloves to anyone.

If you're ever looking for something to use in the shoot houses or real world scenarios give the Oakley Assault Gloves a try. Also if you are Military/Goverment you can get them even cheaper through their Government only website https://usstandardissue.com/default.aspx The knuckle protectors are a nice addition.

Thumbs up

Nice review.

I always liked plain really thin tight fitting vegetable tanned kidskin gloves for shooting since my hands never really get that cold unless it's subzero outside.

I also hate any extra leather material at the ends of the fingers.

My old trick to "form fit" them was to buy them a half size smaller...soak them briefly in hot water and then just wear them indoors until they dried out.

A real pain but, it made them fit skin tight.
