vests/jackets for spring CC
What brands are everyone using? Feel free to include both tactical gear for matches and regular wear that you may use as part of your concealment plan.
Thanks for your input... |

Cover in FL is usually just an open Hawaiian type shirt, a larger T-shirt, or a light jacket...I would suggest using the same cover that you would normally wear for any 'armed' activity.
Stay armed...stay safe!

I just picked up two lightweight fleece (Polertech-type material) vests to use as cover garments. I got my company logo and name embroidered on them for $15 extra - so I can advertise my computer repair services at IDPA matches and etc...
A lightweight vest or blazer/windbreaker type jacket is probably your best bet in a climate like mine (around Seattle, Springtime temps range from 40F to 55F or so). In a warmer climate, I'd go with the unbuttoned over-shirt method as retsupt99 mentioned. Peace, Pete Zaria.

Since the OP is in NE Ohio, I'll assume weather like we get here in New England . . . Spring can be 70 one day and 45-50 the next.
5.11 makes a nice denim jacket that has hidden pockets. It is a bit heavy, but will work in Spring for certain weather/functions. I like the Shabak as well for a cover garment, but it is short-sleeved only (wish they made a long sleeved version too), so good for warmer days and not so good at 45 temps. |

I too like the polar fleece vests for fall and spring time carry. Picked one up at JCPenny's on sale in their big man's dept. last year. Works fantastic!!
Just make sure it's long enough in the bank. ![]()

I wear one of my "Columbia" travel vests or "Scott-e-Vests" during warm weather. During the rest of the year I wear one of my "Scott-e-Vest" jackets or fleeces. SCOTTEVEST/SeV® iPod and Travel Clothing Solutions™ makes a number of useful jackets, vests, fleeces & pants that are great for travel and hiding things in hidden pockets.

I like the fleece type (Polertech-type material) vest as well. Here in MT our weather is cool or cold for most of the year so this type of vest works well.
It's a little extra warmth under a jacket when it's real cold, and by it's self helps keep the chill off when a heavy jacket isn't necessary. I also buy them one size to big. During the short summer months, I like a t-shirt tucked in and a short sleeved untucked shirt over that.
