Unfortunately, that could go both ways.

DA: You had a flashlight mounted to your gun! Why did you not notice that the BG's gun was fake?

From your original post, it sounds like you have thought it through pretty well. Your pros and cons were definitely right on.

Out of curiosity, do you have any idea which way you are going to go? Are you going to pick up the Glock with the M3?

Even in broad daylight, if a man pulled a gun, how could we know for sure the gun was a fake? One couldn't take the chance.

I may not always need to point my firearm where I point my light. I prefer to work with them seperate.

As of right now I am leaning more towards just using the M3 for the night stand and carry my SF 6PL. I will have to try it out when I get it and see how I feel then.

I am %99.999999 sure that I am going to pick up a Glock 19 and %75 sure on the M3.

I am a huge fan of WML's and use one on my daily carry gun. Having done so for a few years now, I really see no disadvantage, other than the additional cost.

The additional weight goes unnoticed. My light weighs less than 4 ounces. However, that few extra ounces near the muzzle shaved a few hundreths of a second off my splits.

I generally carry OWB with an unbuttoned shirt as a cover garment and I do not find it any harder to conceal the gun with the light mounted than without. On those rare occasions where I need to carry IWB, I simply remove the light since I do not own an IWB holster that accomodates the gun with the light mounted. The additional bulk might be an issue for me if I typically carried IWB

Finding a holster was a non-issue. Of course, I prefer Kydex. I am sure leather would be more of a challenge.

Since I consider the WML a part of the weapon and not a flashlight, I carry a seperate handheld light. Were I inclined to do so, I could work my handheld light independantly of my handgun.

Having had a handgun with a WML as part of of my daily carry gear for a couple of years now, I can honestly say that I do not find it to be inconvenient at all. While I do not consider it to be an indispensible piece of equipment, I do appreciate the advantages it offers.

TOO bulky for me, as I do carry IWB mostly. I've got my Surefire in my pocket and I use it often for other things, but not yet needed it for a night time defensive shooting, but I've got it, if the need arises. The negatives outweigh the positives for me to mount a light on EDC. My at home gun does have a weapon light / laser, as does my shotgun. At home bulk is not an issue.

I a big fan of the WML when used properly... but I dont think its a needed item at all for a typical ccw.
