I think that a WML would add too much bulk and make it hard to conceal. As others have mentioned, for a nightstand gun it would be fine.

As a medic for a tactical team, I use weapon mounted lights all the time. They definitely have a place and they work very well.

However I do not carry a light mounted to my weapon for my everyday ccw for same reasons already stated by others.

For my night stand gun, I always keep my Insight M3 on my Glock 23.

I do have an Aker Night Hawk Concealment holster for my light mounted Glock, but I only wear it when I am doing ride alongs with the deputies or if we are doing court room security on high profile trials or other tac team activities where we are in street clothes instead of a uniform.

The additional weight goes unnoticed. My light weighs less than 4 ounces. However, that few extra ounces near the muzzle shaved a few hundreths of a second off my splits.

I generally carry OWB with an unbuttoned shirt as a cover garment and I do not find it any harder to conceal the gun with the light mounted than without. On those rare occasions where I need to carry IWB, I simply remove the light since I do not own an IWB holster that accomodates the gun with the light mounted. The additional bulk might be an issue for me if I typically carried IWB

Finding a holster was a non-issue. Of course, I prefer Kydex. I am sure leather would be more of a challenge.

Since I consider the WML a part of the weapon and not a flashlight, I carry a seperate handheld light. Were I inclined to do so, I could work my handheld light independantly of my handgun.

Having had a handgun with a WML as part of of my daily carry gear for a couple of years now, I can honestly say that I do not find it to be inconvenient at all. While I do not consider it to be an indispensible piece of equipment, I do appreciate the advantages it offers.
Blackhawk6, very nicely said! That's exactly the way I see it. I especially like the WML on the gun and a handheld.

My Sig has night sights on it and when I get home and take it off I put on an Streamlight M-6 flashlight/laser on it and have it stuck to a magnet next to my easy chair. I like it for country living and being able to shoot skunks, cats or feral dogs at night but wouldn't think of carrying it daily.

If I could find a concealable holster for a pistol with a weapons light I think I would probably would

I like my light in my weak hand, I don't want to point my gun at something, just to see it in the dark! Clark

WML for home defense I can justify, but carrying one all the time might not look good in court and I carry other stuff anyway. Plus to use the WML to light up somebody that would not be a threat would be awkward because you just pointed a gun at them. that can get you in trouble.
