Poll option unavailable. I sometimes carry a spare mag. I always carry a spare mag with my P220. Single stack, 8 round magazines. With my Glocks, I sometimes carry a spare mag, but not always.

+1 on that. I couldn't have said it better.

I will add that I carry a Glock, I'm not cracked about the plastic floor plate, if I were to get knocked to the ground or against a wall and that floor plate break, now all my nice ammo is rolling around on the ground and I have a single shot club, no pistol is a very effective club.

I don't carry an extra magazine on most occasions. Hopefully the police will arrive before I expend all my ammo.

I'd hope I could stop two-three threats in 10 shots, but I honestly won't know until I've had that sort of adrenaline rush and heavy weight of making the "judgment" call of shoot or don't shoot. Thats why I'm all about 17+1 plus the 17 rnd backup mag.

I never carry w/o carrying a spare magazine and I often carry two.

To not carry a reload is kinda dumb...

My clips won't fit into my handguns.

Having spare ammunition is always a good thing and never a bad thing.
I never fail to carry at least one, often two spare magazines or speedloaders with the primary sidearm.

I didn't vote because I didn't want to skew the results any more than they probably already are as I'd have to answer honestly that I don't carry any spare clips because I don't own any firearms that even take clips.

Now, knowing what you meant by the question, however, I'll answer and say that I try to carry a spare MAGAZINE when I can. Sometimes wardrobe doesn't allow, but I'll often throw a spare mag in my purse or slip it in my pocket.

It's always better to have one for all reasons mentioned above: just in case; major firefight; failure of the first magazine; better to not need than not have; etc.
