Some good advice here, I've moved several big safes before and I'd agree that you'd probably be better off paying someone else to do it. But, if you do decide to DIY, I have one valuable piece of advice I've learned over the years. Take the door off and move it in two pieces. The doors on those things are probably between 1/3 and 1/2 the wieght, they are much easier to manage in two pieces.

If I understand correct, you only have 1 set of 5 steps, or about a 3 foot change in elevation. Two buddies should be sufficient with a good dolly. When/if you need to slide it, it will scoot easily on carpet after removing the bolted cribbing from the base. Measure the doorways ahead of time and remove the leaf by the hinges if there is not at least an inch of clearance.
