I'm with ya.
I'm a big proponent of the G2 series. Low cost, small and portable and if you pony up a bit more in price you can get the G2 LED model with 12 hours of runtime off of one set of batteries. I also like the G2's ability to be used in both "constant" and "Momentary" illumination mode. I'm staying away from anymore incandescent lamps. If you can't afford a G2 then you need a job. We all have budgets. Why not check out the deals available right now? You don't choose to skimp when you buy defensive ammo, right? The G2 is very reasonably priced for what you get. A 2D Maglite at Wal-Mart costs about $20. For a few dollars more, you get a light that is 3x brighter and small enough to carry with you all the time.
Plus, if you buy from certain vendors, they throw in freebies, like extra batteries. In fact, this weekend LA Police Gear is offering 15% off, free shipping, and 6 free batteries with a G2. Surefire Flashlights G2 Nitrolonplus 6 FREE Batteries plus Guaranteed In Stock Surefire Flashlights, Surefire G2 Light, surefire light, surefire flashlight That's a heck of a deal for $30.60 IMO.

I just purchased the Fenix TK10 from LA Police Gear. It is probably the best flashlight I have ever purchased. Very bright on low mode and amazing on Turbo. Definitely worth looking at.

Being SureFire, you know the light itself is going to be expensive - and paying $30 a set for batteries ought to help you bleed off some of that pesky extra cash as well. |
