His "Creemator" mods can go up to 303 lumens at the moment, and his ML1 Surefire L1 mod can go as high as 160-180 lumens... on one cell. Here is a quote from an email he sent me.

Quote:
Yes, I would be able to replace the stock TIR optic with a reflector... and would replace the stock Luxeon with a Seoul SSC emitter as that's the one which fits nicely into that particular head. I could use a USVOH binned emitter for a creamy white tint... ought to be able to reach 100 lumens even with the stock L1 circuitry, so that's not such a big deal... or with upgraded circuitry (a $30 option) we could bring output up in the 160-180 lumen range, though high beam runtime would decrease from the stock 90-120 minutes down to about 60 minutes.
If you want to contact him directly, his email address is listed in the thread below.

Thanks, sounds interesting. Might be expensive though.

What I really need is some youtube clip comparing Fenix P2D, Surefire L1 and other similiar lights. Unfortunatly most videos show closeup shots of the beam, which is pretty useless. Need to know how they look at a distance.

I can take some photos tonight of the beams outdoors, using my Surefire E2DL and NiteCore EX10. I don't have my Fenix P3D anymore, as I gave it to a good friend of mine... plus JD still has my Surefire L1.

Thanks, I would really appreciate it!! You wouldn't happen to have a Jet Pro-III I.B.S also?

LOL, no. That particular light is not one I have had the opportunity to look into. I've only really got the two lights to compare.

After reading everything I can find on tactical flashlights I now have narrowed it down to these flashlights:

Fenix P2D Q5 (12/55/107/180 lumen)

Nitecore Extreme (2/?/?/190 lumen)

Jet Pro-III (20/180/225 lumen)

Any positive or negative experience with any of these lights?

Unfortunatly I haven't seen any of these in real life. I would like to have the high beam with a little flood, to see things in the surrounding and not only in the narrow spot of the beam.

I'll do what I can to show you the versatility of the NiteCore and SureFire beams. Bear in mind that the Fenix P2D can't be reliably used with the momentary switch (you'll never know if you're getting turbo mode or strobe). The NiteCore Extreme is a nice light, and is actually on sale at TADGear.com. The beam should be similar to the NiteCore EX10 I'll post later on tonight when it gets dark.

That was a good price! Thanks for the link.

What is different between you NiteCore EX10 and the NiteCore Extreme?

I can't say for sure that there will be a major difference between the two - I'm not that well versed in the inner workings of the Extreme.

Here are the pics I promised. First, relatively close up, about 10m to the tree.

E2DL

EX10

Now, about 65-70m to the distant trees, close stump and bird bath about 10m.

E2DL

EX10

About 7-10m to the fender of the Mazda.

E2DL

EX10

And finally, looking through the window glass of the car at the interior. Don't mind the ghostly apparition in the first picture...

E2DL

EX10

I hope this helps you in your decision.
