Here's my knucklehead Springer, Sasha.
Not only does she guard the home, but she is great company in the field.
(And doesn't criticize my missed shots.)

New Boxer Pup

Here are some pics of my new boxer pup. We've wanted one for a while. It was between the American Bulldog and Boxer. I think we chose well. She's a real killer , as you can see in the pics. I think we have a good man's best friend.

Spoiled they are, but they make it a bad house to break into.

Tanner - a rescue German Shepherd. He was 50 pounds when we got him and now he's a healthy 89 pounds and a great protector. He stays with my wife all the time when we're home - never gets more than a couple feet away from her. We really really lucked out with him!

Sorry the photo's so small, it's the only one I can get to right now.

Oh, I forgot Gus! (My avatar) - he's a definite guard dog. If he doesn't like it, he pees on it. My buddy.

A Brindle Boston! Awesome. I love those dogs. My first pet ever was a Black/White Boston named Toto and he was a little stinker. Loved that dog. Didn't know there was brindle color in the breed.

re Sixto's JRT

Sixto:

Uncertain if you've seen the film My Dog Skip, but it's about a Jack Russell Terrier that was brought home for a young boy ... and they grew up together, as best pals. Worth seeing, if you'd like a bit of a walk down memory lane.

You can use whatever image editing software to resize images.

Or, you can use one of the online ones. For example, this one: Online Image Editor. Make sure your "cookies" are turned on for that site, upload your image, resize it, then save the image back to your computer. Then, simply use that smaller version in any attachments/uploads here.

Yeah, I saw it... it was one of my sons favorite movies. He wont watch it now.
JRT's are great dogs in the right household, but they are not for most people.

RONT, thats a cool picture.

Here is a photo of Mercedes (aka Sadies) our female on the left, and Mickey, our rescue male on the right:

Here is Sadies playing, but looking pretty ferocious:

Here is a shot of Mickey shortly after we rescued/adopted him. He was hit by a car and his owner didn't want to spend the money and wanted him put down. The vet thought he was worth saving, and the town animal shelter agreed and footed the bill:

Mickey is a great watchdog, to the point of being annoying. He barks at me coming to the door, even though he sees it is me through the window. Also barks at any noise in the house such as someone stomping their foot upstairs, deer/turkeys out in the yard, etc. And of course when he starts, Sadies quickly joins in.

I can't imagine someone wanting to come in the house with those two making one hell of a racket.

Because of these two, I feel completely safe working rotating shifts and leaving the wife alone (of course she has her SP101, two XD's, and two 12 ga's to help protect her).

We got him from a rescue shelter becuase he looked tame in the picture (I have a disabled younger brother) oh if my parents only knew .

This dog has been an absolute blessing, I couldn't of asked for anything better.

If any of you dog experts out there could help us figure out what exact breed he is it would be awesome, all we can figure out is some sort of Lab mut.
Looks like a mix of Beagle (ears and tail, especially white tip, and some in the head, especially around the brow ridges and eyes) and Yellow Lab (general body/head shape, and fur).

Hey, what's the mix on the tall blonde sitting in this pic? Golden Retriever and something else? That's pretty much the dog I'm looking for.

Oh, well maybe so. Just looks slimmer build, and the white areas, thought there might be some kind of hound or something involved...

If I had to guess, I'd say its about 2-3 years old. Goldens have a wide range of coat colors, almost white to a very pretty dark red color.
Most that we see now are overweight because we have got away from their hunting roots and a golden will become couch potatoes if you allow them to. They are supposed to be slender and athletic.

No matter, goldens are great dogs both in the house and hunting fields.
