Mag numbering
A trick I picked up from one of my Sgts. Puting #'s ( 1- ?) on the base of all my mags. Helps to ID em in case of failure. they can be rotated out of carry service.

Yep - very worthwhile - I have used a center-pop tool set to very low impact - to just ''spot'' a mark, or marks.
Other thing - anyone else have this prob? - I have written on side of some mags with Sharpie, which darned gun they suit!! Some double stackers at a glance take some working out what they belong to. I have mags all over the darned place!

I confuse my CZ mags with my Ruger mags at a glance sometimes, but it becomes obvious which goes to which when I have it in hand.
I use a similar system but with asterisks and crosses and other arcane markings only I can discern. Sigh... and to think such a short time ago I was so happy because I only had one type of magazine to keep up with.

I tried the sharpie thing but it would eventually wipe off. I ended up etching a number on the plastic baseplate.
Good luck. ![]()

Hey, I likes my Sharpie!
I can even use it for darking in sights and hiding...err.."assisting with character marks" - yeah that's it. I used to have mine engraved, you know like done at a trophy shop. You want to have a guy freak out - drop by 50 1911 rd mags. Some buy those vibrating tools to etch #'s, one needs to know how to write, some folks can't write, they use this tool...ugly. Just Cold blue once engraved, #'s show up. Or if you want to be pimpish, use the gold pencil to highlight [yuck]. For kids...don't laugh...find an engraver that has their favorite cartoon character. Do the character then a number. Pretty cool for a kids first gun. Kid gets bigger , not embarassed, just has to explain what a "Mighty Mouse" is to a grandkid. Besides keeping up with changing springs and such...well some neat memories can be done for kids, spl occassions for adults too. 25th Anniversary on a couple of mags are neat for a lady, and a guy...they gave each other guns and had the mags engraved. [awwww] I'm back to Sharpies...I dunno, I seem to be going backwards on everything else - why not? *grin*

I put number on my mag as well. I use a Pen-touch, a white fine tip paint marker, and cover it with clear nail polish or a long lasting mark. My mark is on the back side of my mags. There is less ware on that side on a Glock.
If you are a photo person you can use the same process to mark the filter factor on your filter rings.
