Chip McCormick 8 rnd 1911 mags

Anyone try em in a SA champ.? I ordered 2 , they work flawlessly with FMJ, but not with HP's. I looked em over and they seem to have a larger mouth/feed area on the front. So I tried swapping the springs and follower into a colt mag I have. Trying to get 8 rnd reliable mags. As I do not have my SA right now, will have to wait and see if they work.

Ok if its a full ramped barrel that extends down into the frame where bullet hit it and not the frame the CMC mags will be ok

If its like the Kimbers the mag follower will tearup the frame..

Other wise the CMC's should work they work well in my springfield's

Hope im clear enough what im trying to say

I have also ordered Chip McCormick mags and have not received them yet. My new Wilson's will not allow the slide to lock open after my last shot. I had sent my SA Champion back to SA also and I ordered a Wilson Bullet Proof Slide stop but this did not solve.
I too am searching for a solution, I hope Chip Mags will work, if not it's going back to SA for more work.
Update me if you find a solution.

Looks like we have identical pistols. The CM mags would place the hP nose into the frame below the feed ramp. I have green finish worn where the hit. Will try the mag swap when my Champ returns. Does your slide stop keep the slide locked open without a mag in it? I could seat a mag or shake the pistol and have mine drop.

Yes, we have the same gun. I first sent mine back for reaming and polishing, as it would not feed HP's. Now it feeds flawlessly but my wilsons will not lock open. My wilson mags are loose but SA's are tight. I am shooting tomorrow to test but I really look forward to getting my CM mags. I love the wilsons and they feed better.

Are you having slide stop issues after last shot?

My slide does not lock open with wilsons, but it does lock open with my SA mags. Even with my new wilson slide stop this keeps occuring
in the same manner.

slide stop will not stay open with out a mag in the gun. I can lock it back, but it will drop by itself. HP's ran good thru my SA mags. My CM mags kept the slide locked open too.
