I don't know I had a few Mec-Gars for a .40S&W Browning HP that needed tweaking to run right. Even though they were supposed to be makers of the ones for Browning they just weren't as well done in this case, IMHO, just felt rougher.
Of course that was back in around 1996-97. |

Pro mag does seem to be junk. Seeing my friends Glock and my own problems with AR Pro mags I would not buy em.

mags
I also would pass on the promags. I ordered two for a Kahr and they have never feed a entire magazine without a malfunction. Sent them back under Promags warranty and the second two are just as bad if not worse.

I have a fewe for the 226 I recently aquired.........they work well, but keep an eye open for sloppy/tight fit on the mag catch slots.. If you can, measure the distance from the top of the mag, to the slot..especially if you have genuine Sig stamped mags.. ![]()

I have a couple of Pro Mags for my Star PD what seem to work well....but again, those are strictly range mags only.

The only Pro Mag I've ever had that impressed me any was the one they make for the Bersa Thunder 380. I remember reading at bersatalk these mags were considered to be pretty good overall with a few specimens causing trouble. Basically a good one was gold and a bad one was worthless.
It makes sense though that a couple of their products should work fine... a single stack magazine for a pistol that doesn't have terribly tight tolerances as far as pistols go is pretty hard to screw up. The rest I've seen struck me as odd and flimsy. The ones for the XD are just horrible. Mec Gar OTOH I've had magazines for a variety of firearms from them. If I had to buy spare magazines for something pricey like a SIG, I'd opt for the Mec Gars without hesitation. I used to use them in my P89 too and they worked flawlessly. Promag is bad. Mec Gar is good.
