Got a link to them?

Here is the link for Tommy's Original Gun Pack. Got one for my wife, and was quite impressed with it. It is very, very obvious that they spend a great deal of time working with LEO/CCW folks to get this right. It's very well done.

Note: these packs are pretty expensive. But, if you can wait a bit, register with them and they'll email you about sales. Every so often they do a half-off sale, and suddenly the pack is a really good deal!

+1 on registering with them. That's how I got mine and they don't barrage you with emails.

CCW vest option

I have been thinking about getting one of these Coronado Leather, makers of handcrafted, concealment leatherwear for law enforcement and those interested in high quality leather jackets, handbags and carrycases for firearm concealment and putting a Harley Davidson patch on the back.... seems to accomplish both purposes.... and besides its the same color as my HD and Beretta.

As others may have mentioned, I'm not a fan of fanny packs. Anything that can be snatched, ripped off, etc. of me while I'm wearing it is not something that I want to wear. But I recognize that some people do find fanny pack a good alternative to wearing some type of holster.

I would want to think that there are other alternatives to fanny packs. Another issue I have with fanny packs is to how easy it is to access your carry weapon. If it takes more than one hand to open the compartment where the fanny pack stores your weapon you may have a problem.

If you find yourself in a situation that only permits you only one hand to open your fanny pack this puts you at a disadvantage. Again, I go back to buying a holster that makes carrying a handgun more easily available.

Or maybe one of those nice reflector ones used by the road department? AND, you could carry a defensive shovel and nobody would think anything about it!

Back to topic:

I'm a bit worried that the vest transmits "CARRYING!" to anyone who has had a whiff of exposure to concealed carry. Sure, the sheep won't think anything of it other than to make fashion comments, but that just buys you less 'anti-' hassle. I don't think the vest does much tactically (unless, of course, you're carrying a fishing pole or riding a motorcycle).

Ditto with the 'I'M CARRYING A GUN' fanny pack. The one shown above which tucks the barrel into the waistband and the Tommy's Gun Pack with a non-black front and a non-gun patch would be the order of the day, I should think.

Re patches, my avatar was an idea I had for a club I thought my daughter should start in college, but it wouldn't do in this case. For a buck at www.emblemworks.com you can get one of these:

...though they do have other designs...
