I've been carrying my Surefire G2 LED for awhile now and love it. Only problem is that I have to carry it in a cargo pocket given it's 5" size (don't really like the idea of a big pouch on the hip - it's busy enough with an iPhone and Leatherman). I have been looking at some Maxpedition sheaths as an option however...

Just ordered a Malkoff M60F drop-in for it and am looking forward to the improvement.

Will likely order a Surefire E1B for future hip carry, and relegate the G2 to situations requiring bigger output.

I've also been looking at an Elektro Lumens LED drop-in for my 3D Maglite, for nightstand duty. The only thing I worry about is one of the kids getting ahold of it and shining it in their faces, as kids often do. It may travel back and forth from the nightstand to a locked case in the same bag as the G22.

I never knew I'd become such a flashaholic!

Regards,
Exactly! If you aren't carrying it, it doesn't matter what brand it is!

SureFire G2. The 6P stays on the nightstand.

The E1B is a great light. I bought mine back in Dec., use it every day, and
I just replaced the included battery last week. I have 4 or 5 different SFs and the E1B gets carried most often.

Surefire Review

Well, I just received my markedly overpriced Surefire E1B "BACKUP".

My initial impression is that it's well made, very sexy and did I mention overpriced? Anyway, I realize I could have purchased the “Fenix” brand for than half the cost, and who knows, I just may. The only negative is the battery was D.O.A. out of the box. So much for the so-called 10-year shelf-life. The bright-on followed by the bright-off switch mechanism is actually more intuitive than it sounds.

In any event, it’s a keeper' as the quality really is something us gun nuts will appreciate.
Regards,

Surefire E2D LED...I've have one for a while now and really like...Fits in my pocket just fine and is a true EDC light... I also have a E1 LED, but with the shorter body, it just doesn't seem to carry so well in the pocket, the longer light is actually more comfortable...

My everyday light is usually a Surefire Backup or the E2L Outdoorsman. I love my E2D's, but the others carry a little easier and last a good bit longer. The E2D LED (120 or 125 and 5 lumens) lasts about 2 hours or less, I forget. The E2L Outdoorsman (70 lumens and 3 lumens) lasts 7 hours on high power.

The problem with the Outdoorsman is that the first push on the switch is low power. It's the best light for walks at nighttime around the neighborhood, etc. The E2D and E2D LED are more of a tactical light. The Backup is a happy medium....and smaller.

I carry the Streamlight Stylus Pro, but it's only about 25 lumens.

I'm wanting to get a new light that is atleast 120 lumens, but I've been torn between getting a Surefire G2 or a Streamlight PolyTac LED/NightFighter LED.
