Hiker,

Regarding the Malkoff, how much brighter is it really? I mean numbers say about 360% brighter... is it really?

I'm looking for a dropin that is... WAY too bright for normal use. It says illuminate 350 feet or something like that, I want it to be deadly at 5. Kidding, but I hope its all its cracked up to be!

I can't really say how much brighter as a percentage it is, but I'd say it's quite a bit brighter. Not "HOLY COW THAT'S BRIGHT!", but a marked improvement.

Mine is also the "flood" one as well, so you lose some of the effect to the flooding pattern of the light.

I might mess around with the camera to see if I can get some pictures. Always wanted to, but didn't think anyone would be interested...

Rayovac 80 Lumen 2-AA penlight with a pocket clip...$20 @ Walmart. Have a Surefire 8AX Commander 110 Lumen Rechargeable, 2 12 volt Spots, & 2 Maglight 3 cells in the car. Thinking of getting a Surefire G2 Nitrolon & upgrading the bulb system to the 120 Lumens. Just hate the cost of those CR123 batteries. The little Rayovac will run for 2-5hrs and blind you at night. Decent replacement for working light used every day.

Roger on every post about Fenix. I still have my antiquated, battery eating, expensive, G3. What a friggin joke! It is now reglagated to bedside flashlight because I know I can not use up the terribly expensive 123 batteries with it.

It is time for Surefire to get back into the game or get left FURTHER behind.
Surfire was the stuff 5 years ago, now, it is a joke.

Fenix L1DCE for the belt light, and a Novatac 85T on nightstand duty. Once I get some LiFePO$ rechargeable 123's I will probably EDC the Novatac instead.

Has anyone used this light? At 450 Lumens and $60 its tempting, but sounds too good to be true. Can anyone give any feedback?

LUMAFORCE LF1 Tactical Cree MC-E 450 Lumens *3 MODE

Thanks,

Andy

Also interested in that LumaForce light.... looks like just what I'm looking for, if it is durable, and even half the lumens it says it puts out.
