I have the Fenix L1d. It works great, only uses 1 AA and it last for a really long time even with the standard AA's--- can't go wrong with it.

no kidding on that one, I gotta hear about this light. If it's pocket sized and puts out 700 lumens...well, I'm floored. I thought my nitecore was bright

Fenix LD10 - $50, one double aa, multiple modes of use, small and nice construction. I love it!
The surefire options all used the expensive batteries, and were much bigger (unless I wanted to spend atleast $100+). |

I like the Tomahawk and Surefire depends on what the use is.
LE on white.jpgI'm looking into this for a light. It's 1.5" in diameter so I am not sure about having a specific Mag/lite combo Holster made for it. I think what I will do Is have a Mag/lite combo made for a 1" diameter light so it will be universal and easy to work with and carry. An example of the light that will fill this is a Surefire E1B Backup for everyday all the time carry.
I will use the Tomahawk whenever i can. I think a Strobe in home defense situations is a must. I love the design and the price isn't too bad considering the product. A basic light from Tomahawk runs about $150.00 and they go up to $210.00 depending on how you configure it. As you can see this light has a ring of colored LEDs surrounding the main beam. This particular light is designed for LEO and is a red and blue configuration that all strobe in an alternating pattern. (I love to sit in the backseat of a SUV and let one of these rip for a few seconds, it will light up the area just like the driver is getting pulled over). I'm little to old for this kind of behavior now. (Kinda) Seriously the light I am getting is red and green instead of blue. It will be a great addition to my bow-hunting equipment as well. I like to use a green light to go into a deer stand in early morning. I am ordering the light next week I will let you guys know how it works but if you are interested there is a great review of this light on candle power forum. Anyway, that's my 2 cents on the subject. I'm just getting into this whole "serious light thing" I can see already that it is gonna be another of my wide range of obsessions. I'm sure the better half is gonna be thrilled. More like ![]()

My 120P gives me enough throw to identify someone at the ranges where I'd be comfortable shooting my pistol under most circumstances. Combined with the light's tiny size, light weight, and ability to be programmed so I can have it strobe as a default when I press the tail switch, it's the best choice for the way I use a light. |

Not a very popular brand, but the Nitecore Extreme is what I EDC. Smaller than the Surefires, 190 lumens on a single 123a, and about half the price... A little more expensive than the PD30 tho which is also a great light!
