I carry a Remington 150 lumens flashlight everyday. Great light and extremely bright. It has 3 modes ... high, medium and strobe. Waterproof and shockproof. Cost me 38 bux at my electrical supply house. Lifetime warranty.

My 120P gives me enough throw to identify someone at the ranges where I'd be comfortable shooting my pistol under most circumstances. Combined with the light's tiny size, light weight, and ability to be programmed so I can have it strobe as a default when I press the tail switch, it's the best choice for the way I use a light.

Thank you for the clarification. I understand your point, and to me this is a great reason why an EDC light should have at least two brightness settings. One for indoors/pitch darkness (I find 60 lumens to be good for this), and one for outdoors-longer range/more lighted environments (225 lumens is plenty in my experience).

Remember, one light does not have to be limited to one range.

I find your indoor light needs a bit... overkill. If you are getting up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, the LAST thing you want to do is fire up a 60 lumen light in the bedroom while your better half is asleep in the bed. For general household/repair/task use, I like my Surefire E2L with a 3 lumen low/60 lumen high. On occasion, that 3 lumens is even too much, and I find myself wishing for an even lower low level. Granted, 60 lumens is the minimum I would want if I were lighting up the source of a strange noise, but if I'm just avoiding stepping on a dog or falling down the steps, 3-5 lumens is PLENTY.

I carry a Fenix P2D CE Premium Q5 (Cree 7090 XR-E LED) 180 Lumens. Just twist the barrel and I have 12 Lumens for daily lost stuff under my desk. Twist it again and i get 180 Lumens or a Strobe. Strobe is very nice to disorient folks while I go for my other EDC. (Gun) It will even do SOS. All for about $50. P2D-CE-1.jpg

I have the Fenix PD30 and I absolutly love it! I just hd a drill for CERT and everyone has their "bright LED" flashlights they were just stunned when I turned on mine :-)

I also want to add that I am very impressed with the battery life I am using batteries from batteryjunction.com and still on my first set even though I have been using it very often for a couple of months.

i normally have 2 on me, and atleast one in bag/car or something.

all of them are LED lights now days.
all of them have rechargable batteries.

first TINY one, in my keychain.

Lummi Raw, Awesome little thing of aluminum! output per size and runtime is amazing. mine is about 100lumens on high, and 20 on low. google it.

second one in my trouserpocket as my main EDC is either:

Nitecore D10 -AA battery, completely adjustable output from low to bright , with easy access to both. about 130lumens. (45-60mins on high and couple days on lowest output)
or
Dereelight C2H -cr123 battery, small high-output monster, with warm tint led, near to incan color-rendition. about 170lm. (only 20mins on high)

third one i carry, if i know i will NEED a flashlight and for longer runtime:

Fenix TK11 -2*cr123 or 18650battery, +10h on low of 60lumens, +1h of 220lm.

*then there are other flashlights as backups for these lights in my house/car/bag*

(for general reference to those that might not know.. incan maglite 2D was under 40lumens, 3D under 80lm.. and all of mine surpass them in brightness, even the RAW that weighs 24grams!)
