It's the Surefire E2D for me. Haven't needed a change, only problem I have with it is that it cuts through jeans so I need to make a pocket holster for it. LoL. Mean little flashlight.

Im looking at the nitecore smartpd ex-10. What are some opinions on this light? It looks nice, its bright(or dim if need be) and small. Seems to have decent batt life. I did a search and found a couple of post but nothing over-whelming.

Thanks

lets see.....

on duty I carry a Insight HX150r clipped inside my left cargo pants pocket; Insight Tech-Gear
I love this light, strobing for firefly technique searching buildings, 150 lumens and it throws 'em a long way, momentary or constant on, can hold button and dim it down from 150 to 1 lumen-great for bein sneaky at night but needing a little light, and its rechargable
I also carry this some off duty

I also carry my trusty Magcharger stuffed between the seat and the console of the patrol car, Streamlight Stinger and Surefire G2 in my bag in the front seat too

well, you'll see pictures of my light earlier in this thread. But I'll say that I'm very satisfied with my light. I find the settings to be great, the low is perfect for going to bed, and the brightest is great for outside. And everything in between works well.

I really like it because of the size, and I like the clip I got with mine. It fits perfect in my pocket without being obtrusive, yet is always there if I need it.

I'm not that well versed with flashlights and such, but I'm extremely satisfied with mine. Let me know if you have any questions, I know I had a lot and did a good bit of research before buying a $70 flashlight.

With my job and schedule, I can't carry hardly at all anymore. So, my 'non-tactical' edc is the simple Fenix E01 that takes the AAA battery. Enough light for most tasks, and good battery life to boot.

When I do carry my CCW, I alternated between any one of a number of Surefires. 2 G2s, a 6PL, a 6PD LED, an L1 Cree, or a G3. Even though its considered old technology, I still very much dig the incandescent G2s the most. They have the best feel, best tint, and are the lightest weight wise (not counting my L1).

I recently purchased a SF G2LED which is now my EDC light, I love it. It puts out 80 lumens, very bright.

For general household/repair/task use, I like my Surefire E2L with a 3 lumen low/60 lumen high. On occasion, that 3 lumens is even too much, and I find myself wishing for an even lower low level. Granted, 60 lumens is the minimum I would want if I were lighting up the source of a strange noise, but if I'm just avoiding stepping on a dog or falling down the steps, 3-5 lumens is PLENTY.
I agree with you. 60 lumens, in my experience, is BRIGHT when your eyes have become accustomed to the darkness, and for general indoor use I prefer a dimmer light. I was more reffering to SD/HD applications.

I agree United93. For SD/HD, definitely over 60 lumens for indoors... We're not talking about navigating around the house at night and not trying to wake up anyone... You want an intruder blinded. Outdoors I would say twice the lumens would be necessary.
