Gun Safe.......

I'm looking for a "cheap" gun safe. I would like a fire safe but not 100% must have. Anyone know where is the best place to find one with out costing am arm and a leg? Thanks, LAB

Lowes has an fire resistant executive safe for not a lot of funds. You can also shop the interweb for the best deals.

Depends on how many guns you're wanting to store...

Yep, depends on the number and type of guns as well as anything else (documents, valuables, etc) you want to secure, and your budget of course. I located a cheap safe (second hand, no fire protection) as temporary storage until I had saved up enough to buy what I wanted. Now I've got a nice heritage safe with all the features I wanted.

What is the value of the items you need to protect, and what constitutes "cheap" for you?

Be sure to get something that you can bolt into the floor. A "cheap" safe will almost certainly be light enough to the point where it can easily be carried out of the house, so bolting it down is a must.

Gun Safe Buyers' Guide

Remember, you get what you pay for...buy correctly the first time.
Most first time safe buyers, buy too small.
