I tried a couple; they are great in daytime; mine were useless at night, so definitely a no-no for HD/SD. Try before you buy.

Really? I've had the reverse experience - red dots are great in lower light, but tend to wash out too much in daylight.

FWIW, a few of use at the club tried the FastFires when they first came out and had some problems with the mounts and batteries. Decent customer service, but not to the level one would expect.
