I have both as well, X300 on the gun, and E1B as my carry light.

Of all the items I carry in my pockets everyday, I use my flashlight and my knife the most. A good light is a good investment. I carry a small SureFire LED light everyday. I also train with it in conjunction with my pistol.

I'm firmly in the hand held camp. Own a variety of them from Surefire to the NovaTac model you're describing (which is an excellent light) to a Phoebus. For the money these days I'm leaning towards a rechargeable Phoebus for everyday carry.

If you're interested I know a guy who sells them here:

I keep a small flashlight everywhere; Bedroom, motorhome, Jeep, wife’s car. All of them are loaded with Lithium batters that last five years.

If I’m volunteering to assist with security at a community event, I carry one on my belt, but other than that I never do.

My dedicated HD Glock has a Procyon mounted on it. Best WML I've ever used. I keep a Surefire L1 with me a lot of the time, but not always. I use the L1 a lot around the house. Great for checking on the baby at night and such like, as well as "tactical" use. I keep some tactical balls for HD (no, really: Tactical Balls ) Got some kind of mega-lumen Surefire light in all the cars, too.

Very important. My surefire G2 led goes with me everywhere I go, day or night.

I voted: 'My light attaches to my handgun(s).'
But....my light also attaches to my shotgun and my AR-15 as well. Streamlight M-3 and M-6...they are very important for me in certain situations. As for "How Important is a Tactical Light to You?" I can get up in the middle of the night to go pee without turning any lights on and therefore avoid turning myself into a silhouette. If that's not important enough...I don't know what is.

I have both kinds also. My M&P45 is my nightstand gun and wears a Procyon. I also have a Fenix P3D on the nightstand for handheld use. I EDC a Fenix LD10.
