I recommend the TK11 instead. Better looking, and has a better beam, IMO.

BTW, you certainly are right in thinking of upgrading from Surefire to Fenix. SF lights are good, but in output and runtime, they just don't measure up.

Perhaps... but what you're paying those big bucks for a SureFire is DURABILITY; it will work when you need it to, despite any reasonable (and some unreasonable) abuse it receives.

Many of the flashaholic cognescenti are all agog over Fenix and some other new brands. Those who have used flashlights for real are, for the most part, not overly impressed yet. These new lights have not proven themselves to be durable; yet. They might well be.

Time will tell.

If youfind a bad guy with the handheld...drop it and raise your WML HD gun to identify your target.

What he said. I'm about to purchase a cheap light (30 bucks w/mount) for my flashlight to go along with my big ole trusty streamlight. I saw it at the local flea market/gun booth.

I dont EDC a light (very seldom do i carry it at all) but i do have a Fenix TK11 tactile light that i feel is a MUST for home defense
I do not like WML's because whatever you point your light at theres a gun attached to it & i dont want to point a gun @ a family member especially if your nerved up because you think someone may be in the house...... Just my .02

Initially, I responded to this thread, as “I don’t EDC a tactical flashlight”. However, I have changed my mind based on a current thread regarding a guy that had to drawdown on someone while his light was a few feet away. He sorely regretted that he didn’t have it readily available, since he believes that it could have helped. So, I've decided to start carrying a light full-time.
Regards,

Wow, a little shocking that 1/3rd don't carry a light... Wonder if that's all the time or they EDC a light only at night?

It is my opinion that bad guys don't care who they shoot at. A light is an extremely easy to hit target in the night. I prefer a handheld light and a laser on the firearm. I can illuminate the perp and point my firearm without my center of mass being anywhere near the light or the firearm.
