Howard Leight Impact Sport muffs?
Has anyone tried these? Natchez has them for around $45 and I'm thinking about finally making the electronic muff jump. The reviews there look good and I've been happy with my two sets of non electronic HL muffs. Doesn't hurt that I love green.
![]() Howard Leight Impact Sport Electric Earmuff - Natchez Shooters Supplies To those who use electronic muffs, do you wear both plugs and muffs? When I'm shooting indoors, I always double up. Thanks for any input.

I like them and use them mainly for training classes so I can hear the instructor without having to remove ear plugs.
Often double up INDOORS;no need outdoors. My only problem with any ear muffs is heat.

I have used the Peltor Tactical 6S Electronic Earmuffs for the last six years.
Your ears are protected, but you can still hear important directions on the firing line. ![]()

I won a set of Howard Leight earmuffs. They seem to work as well as my more expensive Peltors. I double up with some ammo.

I just went eletronic - Peltor 7s. I like them a lot (never tried the HL) and do not double plug. The gunshots are a little louder than I would like but I really like being able to hear range commands. And they are comfortable enough to wear for 4 hours.

Thanks for the input everyone,
I like the idea of being able to hear things around me like range commands but if I double up with plugs, doesn't that eliminate that advantage? I want to protect my hearing first and foremost and if sticking with standard muffs and plugs is best for that, maybe I should skip electronic muffs (at least for indoor shooting).

I have some Howard Leight Thunder 29s and they are awesome. I bumped up when I found some Leight 32s and I honestly can't find a better muff anywhere. I never double up between muffs and plugs. I always have a set of silicon plugs with me wherever I go on the off chance that I might need them for a variety of reasons. Usually I'll wear them in a movie that is just overbearingly LOUD.

I found a couple of good links since my post.
Free HL plug/muff offer (no purchase necessary) but hopefully you can use them at work also: Howard Leight / Bilsom Just right click and hit forward if you need Flash 8. Also, I found a great deal ($50 shipped) on the Impact Sports: Howard Leight Impact Sport Electronic Noise Amplification Earmuffs R-01526 FREE S&H R-01526. Howard Leight Communication, Howard Leight Hearing Protection. I'm definitely grabbing the Impact Sports plus I'll be getting the free non electronic setup to boot. Thanks again for the input everyone.

Just bought a pair on vacation at Cabelas in Pheonix. Haven't tried them yet but they seem good. I'll let you know how they work.
