Well I'm glad the last 2 multi-tools I bought were made by SOG then.

I've got a older style Wave I found in a parking lot.

And the only Leatherman tool I bought is an original one in matte black.

My wife has a Gerber multi-tool and it has held up as good or better than my Leatherman. I may give Gerber a try next time, but it's good to hear about the great service you received.
True---but this is the tool the guys and gals in the sandbox are asking for. I have about 6 or so Leatherman tools, no Gerbers--no others, and If I were to buy another, it would be Leatherman.

Cannot vote with my feet on something this important.

I could care less who the guy voted for the leatherman is an excellent tool and as former military member I can vouch for its ability. Moreover, you would be amazed at how many people who consider themselves liberal have a hand in weapons..design, carry or otherwise.
